District Administration Mardan Seals Illegal Housing Society

PESHAWAR: The district administration of Mardan has taken action against illegal housing societies and has urged the public to be cautious when dealing with them.

The move comes after Deputy Commissioner Mardan directed officials to crack down on such societies. Additional Assistant Commissioner (AC) Headquarters Mardan, Junaid Khalid, along with Town Municipal Officer (TMO) Mardan, Naveed Khan, and other officials visited various housing societies to ensure legal compliance.

According to sources, the team sealed the Al-Jannat Homes housing society for not meeting legal requirements and removed its banners to prevent fraudulent activities.

Furthermore, the crackdown was initiated in response to complaints about the illegal operation of many housing societies across the district.

These societies have not obtained formal approval from the concerned department nor have they been issued any No Objection Certificate (NoC), according to officials.

The district administration has warned the public against doing business with such illegal housing societies and has asked them to verify the legal status of the societies before investing.

Comments

  1. This initiative is very much appreciated but must not be allowed even to start this kind of society before completion of legal requirement and obtained NoC. Before locking their office or removing banners have looted many innocent poor people.
Secondly MDA had initiated phase 3 of Sheikh Maltoon Town in Mardan around 29 years before in 1995. The plots owners (poor people) of Mardan had already deposited and cleared their dues but so for non of the owner has been given possession of the plots after even 3 decades. The land is laying bunjar and unwarrantedly used by nomades. District Administration must take this seriously and resolve this long standing issue.
