LAHORE: Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) in Lahore has prepared a special plan to recover pending dues from defaulters, warning of a crackdown against those who fail to pay.
The department has set a deadline for the regularization of connections and payment of dues by March 15, after which an effective drive will be launched to disconnect the sewerage and water connections of defaulters.
WASA Director, Chaudhary Muhammad Danish, said that cases would be registered against consumers who restore connections without permission, and defaulters’ property would be sealed under the land revenue act.
The agency has established a special desk at its head office to facilitate consumers and has also made lists of all defaulters’ public through print, electronic, and social media.
WASA has urged consumers to avail themselves of the opportunity and clear their dues before the deadline to avoid any inconvenience.
Besides, the agency also assured that any consumer’s reservation regarding the correction of bills would be resolved on a priority basis.
