ISLAMABAD: Taking measures to improve security at major public parks, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to hire private security companies to provide a total of 70 security guards for F-9 Park and Lake View Park.
Out of the 70 guards, 40 will be assigned to F-9 Park, which covers an area of 750 acres.
The decision to bring in private security has been made due to rising complaints from the public about the security situation in these parks.
Besides, CDA currently has its guards at both parks, but they are not fully trained and lack weapons, thus, the new security personnel will be trained professionals who can ensure the safety of citizens visiting the parks.
The decision was taken after the recent incident of the rape of a girl in F-9 Park, prompting the chairman of CDA, Noor-Ul-Amin Mengal, to visit the park and order improvements for security, including the installation of CCTV cameras, to monitor activity.
With the deployment of private security personnel and the installation of CCTV cameras, CDA officials hope to improve safety and provide better protection for visitors.
