LAHORE: The government of Punjab is set to launch a massive operation after Eid to eliminate all kinds of temporary and permanent encroachments in Lahore’s commercial centers, malls, and shopping centers.
The Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Metropolitan Corporation of Lahore, City District administrations, Lahore Parking Company, zonal/town municipal administrations, and other concerned authorities will spearhead the campaign.
As per the details, the operation would be launched to free the designated parking spaces from vendors and property owners who use them for other purposes.
The details also suggest that FIRs and criminal proceedings will be initiated against violators of the law.
According to the Punjab Caretaker Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Barrister Azfar Ali Nasir, commercial activity in parking spaces is the leading cause of environmental pollution, smog, obstruction in walking, and other issues in the city.
The government is committed to restoring the city’s aesthetic and resolving these civic issues, he said.
Initially, 9 major roads will be made model roads by removing encroachments to ensure vehicles can park at designated parking lots.
The violators’ properties will be sealed, and heavy fines will be imposed if the same illegal acts are repeated.
Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa added that the operation aims to restore the city’s beauty and that the government will not tolerate business activity that causes civic issues.

All of care takers are big fraudsters. Recently they placed a parking ticket in Race course park. It was later lifted. They are also giving thaikay to their loved ones and receiving their shares. Sab k sab besharam. Jis ka dil karta hai mulk ki maari ja raha hai. Leave this country.
It’s about time ,all roads should be cleared from rehri mafia they come to lahore from other cities and start their business on rehris next day making lahore an other shitwhole.also they provide safe heaven to terrorists, we should discourage migration from terror hit areas to lahore otherwise our beloved city will become another karachi
