PESHAWAR: The water crisis in Hayatabad, specifically in Phase 6, has reached a critical level, leaving residents grappling with severe drinking water scarcity.
Each passing day exacerbates the situation, forcing residents to endure excruciating waits for even the smallest amount of water.
Purchasing water from tankers has become the new normal, as complaints to the authorities have gone unanswered.
The dire circumstances have prompted residents to take desperate measures, such as arranging costly water tankers from neighboring areas, highlighting the underlying issue of inadequate water management and planning.
Despite repeated appeals and complaints, the relevant authorities, including the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA), have failed to provide substantial relief or address the citizens’ grievances.
This has left the residents desperate, urging the provincial government to intervene and find a lasting solution to the persistent water supply problem.
The gravity of the situation demands urgent action to prevent potential public unrest, as frustrated residents may resort to protests against the authorities’ apparent negligence.
The escalating water crisis in Hayatabad serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for comprehensive measures to manage and ensure an adequate water supply for the residents of Peshawar.
