After the Board of Revenue determines the land-use conversion rates, the owners of industrial units will pay the necessary price to have their units’ status converted from “agricultural” to “industrial or commercial”.
According to the information, there are 800 industrial units scattered across 2,500 acres of the 7,300-acre RUDA Industrial Zone, which manufactures steel, pipes, aluminum, and other materials.
On the remaining 4,800 acres of land, RUDA intends to build an industrial estate with the help of the business community.
According to Mian Kamran, Senior Vice Chairman of the Ravi Industrial Estate Association, the area where industrial units are located is classified as agricultural.
He said, “RUDA has chosen to modify the land’s categorization to industrial or commercial.”
In addition, the organization sought RUDA to impose land-use conversion fees based on the DC rate for agricultural property.
The BoR has been asked by RUDA to finalize the fees for land use in the industrial zone.
