LAHORE: In response to the directives of the caretaker Punjab Local Government Minister, Amir Mir, a robust crackdown has been launched against illegal constructions across the city.
The authorities have prioritized addressing complaints related to construction works carried out without approved maps in specific zones, including Samanabad Zone, Wagah Zone, and Data Ganj Bakhsh Zone.
During this drive, constructions that exceeded the approved maps have been swiftly demolished, and the identified buildings have been sealed to facilitate further legal action against their owners.
Furthermore, the concerned officials have been assigned the task of daily monitoring these sealed buildings to ensure compliance with the legal measures.
Moreover, legal actions have been taken against owners who persisted with construction despite receiving notices.
As part of the operation against illegal constructions, a building located on the road adjacent to Main Multan Road was sealed after additional constructions were removed.
Furthermore, additional walls surrounding an industrial building near Attock Petrol Pump on Main GT Road were also demolished during the operation.
In the vicinity of PTCL Exchange Jalu Mor along Main Siphon Road, action was taken against owners of illegal constructions, including commercial halls and shops.
In addition, similar legal measures have been implemented in Wagah zone and Data Ganj Bakhsh zone, where additional constructions at 4 reported locations have faced legal consequences.
