Assistant Commissioner Takes Action Against Encroachment in Mardan

MARDAN: In a bid to maintain an efficient flow of wastewater and prevent urban flooding, Assistant Commissioner Ayesha Tahir spearheaded an anti-encroachment drive against violators on the sugar mills bypass road in Mardan.

The operation was carried out to tackle the hindrances faced during pre-monsoon de-silting drives by the Wastewater Management team and other departments.

During the drive, Assistant Manager of Wastewater Management (WSSCM) Ikramullah and his team were present to lend support.

Ayesha firmly stated that strict action would be taken against encroachers to ensure a smooth de-silting process.

She emphasized the importance of a clear and unobstructed drainage system to cope with heavy rainfall during the monsoon season.

In her appeal to citizens and traders, Ayesha Tahir urged them to refrain from encroaching on drains and waterways.

Such encroachments not only hinder the smooth flow of wastewater but also contribute to urban flooding in Mardan, she added.

She further acknowledged the ongoing pre-monsoon de-silting efforts initiated by WSSCM and other departments over the past few months.
