KARACHI: Turkish-Style retail and wholesale mall has been introduced in Pakistan (Karachi) for the first time.
The mall is designed to facilitate business and economic activities while giving a unique experience to the customers similar to the retail and wholesale shopping mall of Turkey.
The mall “The Grand Bazaar” has been famous in Istanbul and the same model has been replicated in Karachi, Pakistan, said Moonis Ikhlas- Chief Marketing Office Twenty-One Builders and Developers.
“We are introducing the wholesale market in the country’s commercial capital, which will be the hub of supplies of significant goods and commodities all over the country”, he said.
The Turkish style of the wholesale mall is being launched for the first time in Pakistan. “The Grand Bazaar,” with a concept to amalgamate all sectors of the economy under one roof.
The new project will revolutionize the idea of wholesale business in the country, which will be replicated in different cities,” he added.
The location had been strategically chosen on Northern Bypass to facilitate wholesale businesses considering the convenience of logistics and supply chains to the whole country.
In developed countries, the wholesale markets are located on the outskirts of the city, which is why our project has exclusivity to provide a model to Karachi and significant cities to transform cities as similar to metropolises of developed countries.
From automobiles to toy shops, clothes to groceries, every sector will be allocated a differentiated space under the customized requirement of businesses.
Investors and people in business will purchase plots in The Grand Bazaar in an open policy, but they can be facilitated on demand with our advanced construction and development services by us.
The development of this mega project will stir long-term construction activities in the surrounding area.
Commercial real estate projects, including shopping centers and malls, are a catalyst to attract local and foreign investment, stirring the economic activities as hubs of businesses at a massive scale within a city, he added.
As per Pakistan Economic Survey for FY21, the construction sector contributed 2.5 percent to GDP, while 7.71 percent of the employed Pakistani labor force is engaged in the construction sector, he noted.
According to him, there are at least 40 other industries closely associated with the construction industry.
As per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the construction sector received foreign direct investment of $82 million in the last two financial years.
The role of commercial real estate is tremendous in our country, and it is also phenomenal in boosting economic activities, generating entrepreneurial activities, and hundreds of employments at wholesale and retail levels at a particular shopping center.
“There are well-known business tycoons behind the major real estate project, but a majority of them prefer to adopt a retail model in Pakistan; we are among a few investors who took a unique initiative to develop a world of wholesale business in the commercial capital of Pakistan,” he continued.
The single roof concept also facilitates documentation of the economy in which the collection of taxes is easily done by the revenue authorities, he further stated.

This is a great idea and I must compliment Builders on the site chosen being at Northern Bypass.
It seems concurrently that govt would plan for mass transport from city main area to Norther bypass including Gulistan Maymar etc.
The project is being kicked start at the same when most Builders have projects there, and this unique idea would fly well… In-Sha-Allah

Primarily malls are built to facilitate the affluent, not the masses. Malls grow but customers’ power of purchasing has ended in this economically ruined country.
We have no identity but living on others history specially Iran, Turkey, Arabs and Afghans. In our history we have Ayub, Zia, Musharraf, Shareefs, Zardari and Bhutto
It’s not a question of identity. It’s a business oriented initiative to boost national economy and create job opportunities for the jobless people. Moreover Turkey is a most friendly and brotherly nation who always support Pakistan wholeheartedly on regional and international level. This Turkish pattern mall must be a symbolic monument to further deepen our cultural relations with Turkeiy . We could appreciate it instead of hiding behind non issues of identity or non-identity gimmicks.

The facility of shopping under roof is available in Karachi. I believe, It’s about creating the experience of shopping at Grand Bazar rather just adding another under the one roof shopping experience!

Many people must have visited Grand Bazar and would know the amount of cheating committed by vendors with huge margin of bargaining. I have myself witnessed the rate of certain articles, sometimes 3 to 4 fold then the rates elsewhere in Turkey. Istanbul is otherwise most expensive city compared to other cities and GB is a symbol of organized cheating.
If that is the intention of entrepreneur conceiving GB in Karachi, it will be another game of fleecing karachitise.
