ISLAMABAD: In a startling revelation, several housing societies, riding on the coattails of Islamabad’s prestige, have been caught in the act of duping the citizens.
These societies, while claiming to be nestled within the capital’s boundaries, are in fact located outside, making false assertions of possessing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
The allure of Islamabad’s name, synonymous with prestige and value, has been craftily used in advertising campaigns by these societies to inflate their worth and appeal. Among the culprits are Muhafiz Gardens, Faisal Town, Rawat Enclave, Graceland, Airline Society, and several others.
CDA officials have debunked the claims of these societies, stating that most of their so-called approvals are nothing but smoke and mirrors. “It’s a classic bait-and-switch. They’re capitalizing on Islamabad’s reputation to mislead the public,” said one official. Legal repercussions are on the horizon for these deceptive practices.
For those looking to invest or find a home within the capital’s confines, the CDA has a clear message: “Know your boundaries.” The official boundaries of Islamabad are meticulously detailed in the city’s master plan. To aid citizens, a comprehensive map, along with a list of CDA-approved housing societies, is readily available on the CDA’s official website.
In light of these revelations, the CDA urges citizens to be vigilant and not be swayed by misleading advertisements. After all, as the old adage goes, “All that glitters is not gold.”
