RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) initiated a rigorous anti-encroachment operation in the Gulraiz Housing Scheme on Wednesday. The move came as part of a broader effort to ensure urban development regulations are strictly adhered to.
On the instructions of the Director General, Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, the RDA’s Enforcement Squad swung into action, targeting illegal structures and encroachments. A number of sheds and unauthorized constructions in front of various commercial outlets were dismantled during the operation.

The operation saw participation from key RDA personnel, including the Incharge/Assistant Director of Building Control, Assistant Director of Land Development, and Building Inspectors.
The Director General emphasized the importance of maintaining order and ensuring that urban regulations are not flouted. He has instructed the Enforcement Squad to act without bias and ensure that such encroachments are dealt with firmly.
The RDA spokesperson reiterated that the campaign against encroachments would be ongoing, with a clear message that violations of the rules would not be tolerated.
