LAHORE: The Punjab administration has decided to reform the organizational structure of the Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation.
This takes place in addition to the notion of granting bank financing facilities for the building of homes to government employees upon retirement.
The Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Mian Aslam Iqbal, presided over a meeting of the housing department during which these proposals were discussed.
During the meeting, the Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation’s intentions to provide retired government employees with homes or land were discussed.
Minister Aslam Iqbal suggested that the provision of plots to retired government employees in both private and PHATA housing schemes should be looked upon.
He added that the final recommendations for plans to provide retired government officials with houses or plots would be developed and submitted to the provincial cabinet for approval.
He determined that it was the government’s responsibility to ensure the welfare of retired public servants.
