Rawalpindi: Delayed Projects to be Completed by December 2022

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi District Administration has announced that the issues that caused a delay in seven mega infrastructures in the district shall be addressed soon.

According to the official statement, it was disclosed that the development work on all the projects that are underway will be accelerated and the projects will be delivered by the end of this year.

These projects include:

  • The Dadocha Dam
  • Chahan Dam Water Supply Scheme
  • Leh Expressway
  • Ring Road
  • Khanpur Dam Water Supply Scheme
  • 123-kilometre-long Tourism Highway (connecting four hilly areas of the district)

Additionally, it was also mentioned that the projects mentioned above have been on hold for more than a decade and this has raised the development cost to almost 200%.

Furthermore, Deputy Speaker Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi shared that CM Punjab Chaudhary Parvaiz Elahi had reviewed the situation and held meetings to address the issues related to the developments, and had also urged to launch the projects as soon as possible.
