LAHORE: The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved ten development projects for highways and the industry sector, totaling Rs 36.52 billion.
In this regard, Chairman Planning and Development Board, Abdullah Khan Sumbal, chaired a 22nd PDWP meeting.
The approved development plans include the establishment of a new small industrial estate in Gujarat and the establishment of excellence hub(s) in the field of renewable energy (Govt Apprenticeship Training Centre, Township, Lahore and Govt. College of Technology, Taxila, District Rawalpindi).
The Improving Workforce Readiness in Punjab Project will cost Rs 23,982.702 million while the Establishment of Excellence Hub(s) in the Field of Renewable Energy will cost Rs 904.98 million each.
The approved development plans also include the following:
- An 8-kilometre-long DI Khan Road from Chashma Lake to Allu Wali Piplan Kallourkot Road in the district of Mianwali.
- Expansion and restoration of the metalled road from Sanjarpur to Tillu Road (Walhar Morr) via Walhar Bindoor in the district of Rahim Yar Khan’s Tehsil Sadiqabad reconstruction work have been revised.
