CDA Bans Constructions Along All Revenue Routes in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has banned the construction along all revenue routes In the Zone IV of the Capital to avoid traffic congestion.

In this regard, a summary that forbids any new development within 50 feet of these routes has been drafted and will be brought to the CDA board of directors.

The roads affected by the decision include Darwala Road, Bhimber-Lehtrar Road, Simly Dam Road, Japan Road, and Malot Road.

The decision was made after carefully weighing two options: the first was to acquire land to expand the road by 100 feet, and the second was to forbid building within 50 feet of these routes.

As purchasing the land would have cost billions of rupees, the CDA chose the latter.

It is important to note that the revenue roads in Islamabad are typically 20 to 30 feet wide, and they are becoming more congested due to the growing number of housing societies and construction projects.

When it comes to new societies and constructions, these routes are among the busiest in the city.

  1. This is very good decision but building controlling authority should also ensure the parking in every plaza as now all the vehicles are parked on road in front of plaza.
    Aa second option CDA should specify the commercial areas in each UC and if any one wants to construct commercial property in I’ll planned area, they should acquire NoC .

  2. Good decision also lehtrar road shall be widened and free of encroachments for easy traffic.

  3. What about Golra Road from Kashmir High way leading up to Peshawar Road. Illegal shops and offices shall be demolished immediately and road shall be widened.

  5. CDA chairmen sb ur ur management kindly visit tarnol phatak by foot. Heavey rushed by crossing railway line.
    Road will be disturb not finish.
    Kindly sujjest ourhead bridge or under pass. 2ndly see big west of footpath under the situation of carbages in their no traffic rules obey to heavy machinery. I think so we r not live in Islamabad city butt saw is living village their is no name……

    ایک گاڑی بمشکل گزر سکتی ہے-

    اگر عملی طور پر پر تجاوزات کا خاتمہ کیا جائے تو بہتر نتائج سامنے آ سکتے ہیں-
