ISLAMABAD: The National Highway Authority’s staff will soon have a place to live, according to Minister of Communications Maulana Asad Mahmood.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, he stated that staff who work at the NHA headquarters will be given residence.
The minister also assured that all the grievances of employees would be listened to and resolved on a priority basis, adding that the employees of NHA were the backbone of the department.
He clarified that the NHA would retain ownership of these houses and that doing so will allow it to save significantly on the cost of providing housing for its employees.
Furthermore, such approaches, according to the minister, would also be implemented at provincial offices.
Besides, Asad also sought a briefing on various ongoing projects and ordered expediting the development work on all the major highways so that people may travel hassle-free.
Earlier, the minister also approved the construction of residential apartments for employees of the National Highway Authority (NHA).
