PDWP Punjab Approves 6 Development Schemes Worth Over Rs. 6 billion

LAHORE: On Thursday, the Punjab Provincial Development Working Party approved 6 development schemes for the health and education sectors, totaling Rs. 6 billion.

The schemes were accepted at the 39th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) for the current fiscal year 2022–2023, which was chaired by Dr. Sohail Anwar, the board’s secretary for planning and development.

As per the details, the following development plans were authorized.

  • The provision of CyberKnife technology/equipment for Nishtar Hospital in Multan for Rs. 1,572.750 million
  • The acquisition of ventilators for a hospital in Punjab at Rs. 864.000 million
  • The establishment of the Government Graduate College for Women in Sikandria Colony, Sodiwal, Lahore, for Rs. 521.179 million
  • The purchase of a CT angiography machine for the Punjab Institute of Cardiology, Lahore, for Rs. 450.000 million
  • The provision of a linear accelerator with allied health facilities for cancer treatment at Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital, Gujarat, at Rs. 1,300.000

Members of the Planning & Development Board and the provincial secretary of the relevant departments attended the meeting.
