Accountability Court Adjourns Hearing Over Khwaja Brother’s Paragon City Case

LAHORE: The hearing on the Paragon Housing scam was postponed by an accountability court on Tuesday until January 10.

The details show that due to the concerned judge’s absence, the case was adjourned. Earlier, the NAB responded to the Khawaja brothers’ requests for acquittal.

The primary defendants, Saad Rafique and Salman Rafique, showed up in court and marked their presence who is the principal suspect in the Paragon Housing fraud.

Furthermore, the accused, Qaiser Amin Butt, willingly reported the details of the offense and asked forgiveness under Section 26 of the National Accountability Ordinance, 1999 (NAO 1999), which the appropriate authorities approved.

It is to note that, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Khawaja Salman Rafique, Nadeem Zia Pirzada, his son Umer Zia, and Farhan Ali were the targets of the NAB’s reference.

Besides, in a similar bid, Fawad Hassan Fawad, the former PM’s secretary, has also filed an acquittal request in the assets beyond means case against him.
