ACE Lahore Arrests Railway Land Grabber

LAHORE: Sheikh Khalid Mahmood, a resident of Lalamusa, was detained by the ACE team on the orders of Director General Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab Nadeem Sarwar after his bail was revoked by the Lahore High Court.

As per the information, 5 Marla of property belonging to the railway was leased by Sheikh Khalid Mahmood, who then erected an unlawful plaza on the site.

In addition, he also failed to pay the government land’s Rs. 6 Crore lease payment and presented a false map depicting a residence in place of the plaza.

Besides, following the LHC’s cancellation of the accused’s bail request, the ACE team located him and began legal procedures.

It is to note here that Inspector Building Mehar Afzal, who colluded with Khalid Mahmood, has fled the country.
