LAHORE: In an alleged incident of land fraud, an anti-corruption court on Wednesday granted post-arrest bail to PML-N MNA Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf.
As per the details, Chaudhry Ashraf was detained by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on suspicion of stealing over 157 acres of public land through forgery and fraud while working with tax agents.
Additionally, it was claimed that Chaudhry Ashraf took state property by misrepresenting Sharif Ahmed Hashmi as the real owner of the property.
The sources informed that the MNA was detained at Sahiwal before being transported to Lahore.
Furthermore, through his attorney, the MNA claimed in the bail petition that the prosecution was politically motivated.
Besides, the counsel said the investigation had been completed and there was no need to keep the petitioner behind the bars.
