Once again, the Islamabad property market is abuzz with the news of DHA Phase 9 files circulating. There are YouTube videos suggesting that DHA Phase 9 plot file dealings are currently taking place.
In some videos, the location of the fabled DHA Phase 9 is said to be adjacent to Capital Smart City. Some other videos more vaguely mention the location to be ‘near airport’.
But investors should beware as DHA has denied all such rumors saying that any files that may currently be circulating in the market are bogus, and that people should not waste their money on such scams.
In May 2022 too, DHA notified the public about this ‘fraud’, saying, “It has come to the notice that advertisement regarding terms and conditions for sale of files to investors in project captioned ‘DHA Islamabad (New Phase near Islamabad Airport)’ is being circulated in the real estate market which is entirely a fraud.”
Clarifying that DHA had not announced any such project, the notification said, “It is informed to all that DHAI-R did not announce any launching of its project with the name of ‘DHA Islamabad (New Phase near Islamabad Airport)’, consequently, general public is advised not to respond on the above stated project.”
In the May notice, DHA had also hinted at initiating legal proceedings against the culprits for using the name of DHA Islamabad illegally. It had also warned the public that the authority would not be responsible for any consequence arising from any deal related to the said project.
Now, as the matter has resurfaced, we at ProProperty got in touch with DHA Islamabad officials who reiterated, “The DHA management has not shared any plan to launch any phase and there are no files issued to the dealers by the DHA.”
The representative also mentioned that any news related to DHA will be shared on the official website and also in the newspapers.
According to some realtors, the files currently being sold in the market are of landowners in the area and DHA has nothing to do with them since the project hasn’t been launched yet.
Investors, therefore, are once again advised by DHA to refrain from being part of any dealings related to DHA Phase 9, which could also be alternatively termed as ‘DHA Islamabad (New Phase near Islamabad Airport)’.
