CDA Removes Paper Mulberry Trees to Prevent Pollen Allergies

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to remove the Paper Mulberry trees to provide a healthy and clean environment and to prevent the spread of pollen allergies in Islamabad.

A CDA official said that a strategy for eradicating Paper Mulberry trees had been developed and would be submitted to the concerned authorities for approval soon.

He added that the planting of Paper Mulberry trees was prohibited in this area and that the authorities had planned to plant fruit trees instead which would be a more environmentally friendly choice and aid in beautifying the federal capital.

It is important to note that Paper Mulberry is known for creating severe respiratory conditions and pollen allergies and poses serious health issues.

Earlier, CDA had launched operations against the usage of plastic bags, and in this regard, the CDA’s senior management instructed the Director General Enforcement to conduct an operation in the federal capital’s rural and urban districts to seize shopping bags and products that are harmful.
