CDA Wages War Against Encroachers, Demolishes More Than 100 Houses in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: In a commendable move to reclaim non-developed and under-developed residential sectors from encroachers, the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) enforcement wing recently carried out a highly successful operation in Park Enclave Phase-I.

The operation resulted in the demolition of 48 houses and over a dozen boundary walls, effectively clearing the encroachments.

This operation underscores the CDA’s unwavering commitment to preserving the integrity of its land and combating encroachment.

However, it also highlights concerns about the persistent challenge posed by the land mafia, as repeated operations are required to remove encroachers.

Earlier this month, the Islamabad High Court issued a directive to the CDA, ordering a comprehensive operation against occupants in Sector F-11.

In compliance with the court’s order, the CDA swiftly demolished 30 illegally constructed houses, 15 shops, and 11 government-land boundary walls.

This operation resulted in the recovery of government land worth billions of rupees.

Furthermore, in another significant endeavor, Member Estate and his team recently conducted a mega operation in Park Enclave Phase III.

During this operation, 50 houses constructed on government land were demolished, and four individuals were apprehended for obstructing the operation.

The demolition of illegal structures and the recovery of government land exemplify the CDA’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting public assets.
