Chairman CDA Approves Construction of Flyover on Srinagar Highway

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Capital Development Authority Captain (R) Muhammad Usman Younis has approved to the construction of a flyover at the intersection of Sri Nagar Highway and Faqir Aipee road.

The purpose to build a flyover at this point is to prevent accidents and severe traffic bottlenecks.

According to the details, a meeting was presided over by the Chairman of CDA to discuss the issues that are related to traffic congestion and solutions to minimize the accidents.

During the meeting, several proposals were submitted to address the issues permanently.

Earlier, the Sri Nagar Highway was made signal-free which aided in traffic jams but it resulted in accidents due to speeding and reckless diving.

Additionally, the proposals suggested the construction of flyovers at the intersection of Srinagar Highway and Faqir Aipee Road, while U-turns in front of the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) and 10th avenue intersection are under construction.

The Chairman also approved the construction of a bridge for bikes and pedestrians between sectors H-13 and G-13.
