Chairman CDA Assures Completion of Ongoing Development Projects by June-July

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman, Captain (R) Noorul Amin Mengal, announced that ongoing development projects in Islamabad would be completed by June and July this year.

The projects set to be completed include the Bara Kahu Bypass, Margalla Avenue, and IJ Principal Road.

Speaking at a press conference, the chairman stated that the CDA’s management would focus on ensuring the quality development of the C sectors.

Mengal emphasized the importance of green spaces, such as national and public parks, as federal capital assets.

In order to maintain the green culture of Islamabad, the chairman said that a Green Fund had been established.

Under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), at least a portion of the budget for every development project will be reserved for this fund.

The chairman also mentioned that the CDA had identified 300 private schools that would be relocated to new plots at a 55% rebate on the DC rate for a lease of 10 years.

In addition, the powers of Building Control Inspectors are being withdrawn to end corruption. Instead, teams of the Building Control Wing, each headed by an assistant director, will inspect commercial and residential buildings to approve building plans and check illegal construction activities.

To prevent societies from violating layout plans, the amenities plots for graveyards, schools, parks, playgrounds, etc., will be transferred to the CDA.

Mengal said 300 private schools have been identified so far and will be relocated to new plots with a lease of 33 years.

Furthermore, the CDA board has decided to file a review appeal with the Supreme Court for constructing an international cricket stadium near Garden Avenue and a five-star hotel.

Mengal also mentioned that holding open kutcheries has been helpful in addressing many issues.

  1. Thank you for your good initiative for butification of ICT and development.. but street crime is on the rise in G-11 sector, due to sanctuary of criminals in G-12,, Mera Jafar. It has not been taken up by CDA , inspite of payment for land acquires..
    And last govt residences are illegally occupied by many people, who were allotted , but then put on rent for other’s. As a result government employees are suffering a lot for this injustice.

  2. Good efforts by CM CDA for improvement and beatification of capital city .equally needs to improve law and order situation in Islamabad to make it safe and secure at par with its beatification greenery .

  3. Respected CDA Chairman, please keep the cricket stadium out of the city, as cutting trees in the Garden Avenue will badly affect the flora and fauna, moreover, this area acts as the lungs of the Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

  5. CM CDA We appreciates your efforts on ongoing projects. Our request is that express road fron gulberg green to rawat is very bad condition. Pl expedite FWO to work day and night to complete this project.

  6. Why an important project of 10th avenue is left after cutting down link between I9 and I10, that could reduce load from express way. Atleast both bridges must properly made between I9 and I10.
