ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) teams, including the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Pakistan Army, and Rescue 1122 have been praised for their successful rescue and relief operations in earthquake-affected Turkiye and Syria.
The Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik, expressed his pride at the special ceremony held at the Prime Minister’s Office, where appreciation certificates were awarded to the teams.
On the instructions of the Prime Minister, the NDMA sent 3 Search and Rescue teams and a medical team of PIMS to assist the countries hit by the deadly earthquake on February 6.
The NDMA chairman commended the teams for their hard work, dedication, and commitment during the rescue mission.
He also assured that the NDMA stood committed to meeting any challenges that Pakistan might face during the event celebrated and commemorated “Our Heroes Coming Home from Quake-Hit Syria and Turkiye.”
The successful operation has brought pride to the nation, and the USAR teams have done an excellent job, the chairman noted.
