Chief Traffic Officer Warns of Strict Action Against Illegal Parking

RAWALPINDI: Tamoor Khan, the City Traffic Officer (CTO) for Rawalpindi, went across the city’s various neighborhoods on Thursday to assess the traffic flow.

According to the sources, the CTO instructed the traffic wardens to take action against unlawful parking, especially on Murree Road, Raja Bazar, and other major routes in the city.

He urged making serious efforts to guarantee smooth traffic flow while commending how City Traffic Police (CTP) had taken additional steps to remove encroachments.

In Raja Bazar, Murree Road, and other locations, lifters will now be available to clear encroachments and automobiles parked in prohibited places, he added.

According to the spokesperson, CTP has started a special operation against encroachments and illegal parking, with a focus on cleaning up routes including Murree Road, City Saddar Road, Imperial Market, Gunjmandi Road, and Bara Market.

Furthermore, the Sector Incharges had been given instructions to pursue legal action against rule breakers without showing any favoritism.

The CTO stated that anyone breaking the regulations would face consequences and their vehicles would be detained as well.

Additionally, the CTO also gave the Circle Incharges the order to periodically examine the traffic condition in various city locations inside their respective circles.
