Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah urged The Shanghai Group operating in Block-I to accelerate the residential colony’s development so that impacted individuals may be relocated there.
CM assured that the Thar Coal Block-I project impacted individuals will be adequately settled by building colonies with necessary facilities.
The commencement of construction in Block-I has impacted two villages, according to Energy Minister while several families have been impacted by the initiative, he continued.
The CM gave the instructions to make sure that the houses are built in accordance with the needs of the community, including all the facilities like water, power, roads, green belts, community centers (separate for Hindus and Muslims), schools, and a dispensary, to be supplied to the colony of the affected Block-I residents.
The CM while responding to a question, said that his administration would build the houses in a colony that would be well designed and constructed.
It is pertinent to know that Thar Block-I will soon house two 260MW coal-based power units built by the Shanghai Group.
