KARACHI: The Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, has approved a grant of PKR 66 billion for the reconstruction of 8,629-kilometer-long roads in Sindh.
As per the details, these roads were damaged due to extreme rains and floods.
The CM directed the authorities to ensure the quality of roads and to build conduits, bridges, and siphons where needed.
He also directed the chairman of P&D to prepare the data within 3 weeks for roads smaller and up to 3-kilometers that will connect several villages or those within the city.
The expected cost of repairing this road infrastructure is PKR 94,121.578 million which in USD is 427.825 million.
It is important to note that 801 initiatives under the provincial government’s jurisdiction have been damaged in the road sector, totaling 8,620 kilometers.
