Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Bajwa has stated that the army would help flood victims restore their homes.
COAS Bajwa visited Swat to meet the flood victims and assess the amount of damage done by the recent flood.
He stated that the degree of destruction in Sindh was enormous and advised authorities to use available foreign help to overcome post-monsoon difficulties.
As per the details, the army aviation helicopters rescued many flood survivors including women and children in Swat’s Kalam and Kanju regions.
The evacuated folks expressed gratitude to the troops for their assistance and efforts.
Furthermore, COAS evaluated army relief operations in several localities, including Khwazakhela, Bahrain, Kalam, and Matta in Swat.
He also praised the Peshawar Corps for responding quickly and saving lives.
He further added that the National Flood Response Centre would function similarly to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) and would make efforts for the affected people’s rehabilitation.
