Commissioner Lahore and LDA DG Prioritize Ease of Doing Business

LAHORE: Commissioner Lahore and LDA DG Muhammad Ali Randhawa have emphasized the importance of facilitating businessmen and entrepreneurs under the “Ease of Doing Business” initiative.

He conveyed these instructions during a meeting of the Planning and Design Committee, where Chief Town Planner Shakeel Anjum Minhas and other relevant directors provided a briefing to the Commissioner.

The Commissioner emphasized the need for dedicated parking spaces to be used solely for parking purposes.

He also stressed the importance of implementing rooftop gardening and ensuring greenery in newly approved cases.

Compliance with LDA and TEPA rules, as well as monitoring the land use of cases approved by the committee, were also highlighted as crucial.

The meeting was attended by Additional DG Housing Syed Munawar Bukhari, Additional DG Headquarters Imran Ali, Chief Town Planner Shakeel Anjum Minhas, Chief Metropolitan Planning Nadeem Akhtar Zaidi, CEO MCL Ali Bukhari, Chief Tepa Mazhar Hussain Khan, and Directors of respective towns.

In another development, the Commissioner of Lahore has instructed the verification of the total number of inoperative water filtration plants in the Lahore division across all departments.

He emphasized the need for certified data on the total count of water filtration plants in Lahore, distinguishing between active and inactive ones.

The Commissioner suggested that non-functioning water filtration plants could be restored through the support of philanthropic individuals and organizations.

During the briefing, it was revealed that out of a total of 1,218 water filtration plants in Lahore, 282 were inactive.

Besides, various departments, including Wasa, MCL, C&W, Municipalities Dept, and Punjab Abb-e-Pak Authority, were reported to have plants in Lahore.

The Commissioner also urged the Punjab Abb-e-Pak Authority to provide certified data for the Lahore division.
