Commissioner Multan Division Reviews Progress of Health Projects

MULTAN: Commissioner Multan Division, Aamir Khattak, paid a visit to the extension block of Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi Institute of Cardiology (CPEIC) and Nishtar-II to assess the progress of ongoing work.

During the visit, he directed Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, the MS of CPEIC, to ensure the installation of machinery and signboards on the extension floor.

These measures are aimed at guiding patients and their attendants, particularly those who come from distant areas to seek medical treatment.

Commissioner Khattak highlighted that the Punjab government is investing billions of rupees in major health projects and emphasized the need to appoint guides at Nishtar Hospital to assist visitors in navigating various wards, sections, and laboratories.

Haider Ali, XEN of the Building department, informed the commissioner that they are awaiting an electricity connection from MEPCO and mentioned the completion of 40 rooms in the OPD.

In an earlier meeting at his office, Khattak discussed health projects with various stakeholders, including Dr. Rana Altaf Ahmad, the VC of NMU, Dr. Rao Amjad, the MS of Nishtar Hospital, and Robina Kausar, the Director of Development.

During the meeting, he urged the administration of Nishtar Hospital to expedite the conversion of the facility to solar panels and ensure its functionality as soon as possible.

Besides, Khattak emphasized the need to accelerate efforts in making Nishtar-II OPD operational.
