Dar Vows to Provide Housing to Low Income Groups

ISLAMABAD: The federal minister of finance and revenue, Ishaq Dar, has stated that the incumbent government is determined to offer housing options to low- and middle-income groups at reasonable costs.

As per the details, Dar presided over a meeting in the finance division on the Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar (MPMG) Scheme along with officials of SBP, as well as NAPHDA Chairman Lt Gen (Retd) Anwar Ali Hyder.

The officials briefed Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar Scheme to the minister and its financial aspects, and operational and functional limitations.

The meeting also discussed future plans for providing housing finance options to the general public and resolved to make the current Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar scheme more accessible by making various structural improvements.

The finance minister also expressed the current administration’s commitment to offering low- and middle-income people housing options and directed the relevant officials to develop workable solutions to the operational issues in the current program.

He also ordered to make it more dynamic for the benefit of the general public and pledged the stakeholders for the full support of the current administration in this matter.
