MULTAN: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Umar Jahangir has issued orders to launch a crackdown on illegal housing schemes and commercialization in the district.
According to sources, joint working committees, consisting of representatives from the MDA, Municipal Corporation, and District Council, have been formed to tackle the issue.
During a meeting of the District Planning and Design Committee, DC Umar Jahangir emphasized the importance of adhering to the master plan to ensure the city’s infrastructure is developed by the guidelines.
Furthermore, he also highlighted the need to protect agricultural areas and gardens by allocating designated site development zones.
Besides, the DC directed officials to take strict measures against fraudulent commercial activities that pose a threat to gardens and agricultural lands.
Moreover, he emphasized the significance of considering agricultural areas when approving new housing colonies, urging special attention to be given to preserving the agricultural landscape.
