EPA to Hold Public Hearing on Skyscraper Project ‘Golf Floras-II’

ISLAMABAD: The public hearing of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) report of the multistory residential project “Golf Floras” by the Pak Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) is scheduled on Tuesday.

As per the details the Pakistan Environmental Protection Act, 1997, and the revision of the IEE/EIA Regulations, 2000, are the legal foundations for the public hearing.

The EIA report comprises a thorough assessment of the current environmental conditions, a description of the project, an analysis of the consequences, and suggested mitigation measures to be used throughout project execution.

The sources say that it is a requirement to apply for environmental approval and a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Pakistani EPA.

This ensures that the environment will be protected and that builder will be compensated for any harm to the environment that occurs during and after the implementation of the project.

The Imarat Group of Companies is planning to create the said high-rise residential complex on a 24.62 Kanal land.

The apartment structure will have 3 basements, a rooftop, and 28 stories above ground.

Furthermore, with its proximity to the Bahria Golf Course, the project aims to provide luxurious residences, as well as a family club, an infinity pool, emergency response capabilities, and commercial centers.

Additionally, the overall covered space, including basements, elevators, stairwells, and dump site is 1,060,850.62 sq. ft, whereas the total proposed covered area is 659,701.97 sq. ft.

According to the Capital Development Authority’s Building Control Regulations, 2020, the building has been planned and information is being acquired from the locals and examination through satellite images.

The sources claimed that the property was once utilized for animal grazing until a private real estate company acquired the site to build its housing society.
