ISLAMABAD: A case has been filed by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against Shakeel Arshad, the former head of the Municipal Administration Directorate of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and his accomplices for suspected corruption in the metro bus project.
According to an FIR, a complaint was filed by Irfan Nawaz, the Administrator of the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad, alleging that a file was initiated by the DMA for the decoration of the metro bus route and was approved for the allocation of funds.
However, another file with the same title was initiated using a photocopy of the first file, leading to a double payment being released to the contractor.
The FIA initiated an inquiry and found that the officials committed offenses of misuse of authority and criminal misconduct by manipulating official records.
The FIA has registered a case against Director Shakeel Arshad, Muhammad Asif, and Atif Ullah, owners of The Service Factory (Pvt.) Ltd, under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
