ISLAMABAD: Minister for Finance and Revenue, Ishaq Dar, chaired a meeting to review the progress of housing projects developed by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for overseas Pakistanis.
As per the details, the meeting discussed several short-term and medium-term housing projects, including the completion of Nilore Heights-I, which has received over 6,000 applications from 81 countries for 2,000 flats.
FM Dar emphasized the importance of overseas Pakistanis in the country’s economic and financial development and directed the CDA to accelerate the development of projects for them.
He also instructed the CDA to hold the balloting for Nilore Heights-I before May 8, 2023, instead of May 16.
The meeting also discussed the provision of commercial and residential plots for overseas Pakistanis through open auctions and establishing facilitation desks in the CDA.
Dar directed the authorities to provide incentives to investors who pay in US dollars to boost foreign exchange reserves and ensure a transparent and public-friendly system for investors during the sale and purchase process.
He also urged the CDA to expedite work on Kuri and Overseas Enclave projects and to prepare a scheme for the auction of plots in C-14 and C-16 sectors by mid-May 2023.
The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Finance Tariq Bajwa, SAPM on Revenue Tariq Pasha, and senior officers from Finance Division and CDA.
