Five Structures Demolished in LDA Avenue-1 and Jubilee Town for Violating Building Bylaws

LAHORE: In a bold move to address the growing concerns of land encroachments, unauthorized constructions, and blatant disregard for building regulations, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) launched a rigorous operation across multiple areas of Lahore this Tuesday.

The operation saw the demolition of five structures in both LDA Avenue-1 and Jubilee Town, which were found to be in violation of building bylaws and were being used for unauthorized commercial purposes. The structures included an illegal public health site, a building material store, a marble workshop, and a service station/workshop that was still under construction.

In a significant achievement for the LDA, the authority successfully reclaimed 20 kanals of government-owned land by tearing down a boundary wall that had illegally extended onto it.

The operation was meticulously carried out under the watchful eyes of Chief Town Planner-I, Azhar Ali, and Director Housing VIII, Rehan Athar. Both officials led enforcement teams that were backed by heavy machinery and police personnel, ensuring the operation’s success.

Lahore’s Commissioner, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, and the Director General of LDA have both expressed their firm stance on the matter. They stressed the importance of continuing this rigorous campaign against encroachments, violations of building bylaws, and unauthorized commercial activities. Their goal is clear: to pave the way for a brighter and more law-abiding future for Lahore.

Residents of Lahore can expect to see more of such actions in the future as the LDA remains committed to upholding city planning regulations and ensuring the rule of law.
