LAHORE: Former Minister Ijazul Haq, son of military dictator Gen Ziaul Haq, has been summoned by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on charges of developing housing schemes on agricultural land.
The ACE has alleged that Mr. Haq developed seven housing societies on agricultural land in Haroonabad, and made millions of rupees through his frontmen.
Besides, TMA officers are also being summoned this week to record their statements regarding the matter.
Additionally, the ACE has also clarified that it did not raid Punjab University to arrest former Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and stated that a probe into the charges against him has been ongoing, but his arrest has not yet been sought.
Previously, the ACE informed the Lahore High Court that no case had been registered against Mr. Buzdar, but 10 inquiries were pending against him at its DG Khan office. All of these inquiries were initiated during the current year.
