Governor KP Calls for Careful Use of Development Funds

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Haji Ghulam Ali stressed the importance of responsible spending of development funds during a meeting at the Governor House.

As per the details, the governor was chairing a meeting to discuss irrigation projects in the province and warned that misusing the allocated funds could put more strain on the country’s economy.

In the meeting, attendees were updated on the current irrigation infrastructure and development schemes underway in both the settled areas and merged districts.

Haji Ghulam Ali stated that the federal government would be contacted to release funds and that the government was aware of the problems faced by tribal people and is working to address their concerns.

Besides, the governor also instructed the irrigation department to develop a strategy for draining rainwater in hilly regions, which would help protect public property and reduce difficulties for travelers and tourists during floods.

Furthermore, Ghulam Ali held another meeting to review the land acquisition process for the University of Technology Nowshera.

The meeting resulted in a decision to transfer land possession to the Deputy Commissioner of Nowshera for the university which was attended by the Vice Chancellor of UoT Nowshera, officials, and the Commissioner of Peshawar Division.
