Gwadar Safe City Project to be Completed in the Next Six Months

ISLAMABAD: The Gwadar Safe City Project (GSCP) will be completed in the next six months, and a revised PC-I in this respect will be submitted at the forthcoming Central Development Working Party (CDWP) meeting.

The federal minister for planning, development, and special projects, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, gave the Balochistan province administration permission to revise its PC-1 before the CDWP conference in September.

The Minister gave these orders while presiding over a steering committee meeting to review the development of the GSCP.

During the discussion, the minister also inquired about the development of the Quetta Safe City Project. During the meeting, it was disclosed that equipment had been withdrawn for this project and that more work was being done.

The major objective is to implement the highest level of security for Gwadar, which will serve as a gateway for the CPEC.
