LAHORE: Aslam Iqbal, Minister of Punjab Housing and Town Planning has chaired the 87th board meeting to discuss the low-cost housing projects’ completion.
In the meeting, he urged the authorities to complete the low-cost housing plans in the specified time.
He has also suggested assigning a focal person for the SMBR office to accelerate such initiatives.
The minister added that the government’s top priority was the Naya Pakistan housing project, and intimated that no obstruction in the implementation of such projects would be accepted.
The minister also paid a surprise visit to the LDA one window facilitation center and other locations.
Earlier, LDA initiated operations against illegal commercial activities and sealed many illegal buildings in Samanabad, Gulshan Ravi, Ferozepur Road, and other areas that fall under the jurisdiction of LDA.
According to LDA Chief Town Planner Shakeel Anjum Minhas, functional buildings were sealed and removed as they violated maps.
During the operation, the LDA team was accompanied by the enforcement wing and the police.
