ISLAMABAD: The President of the Intelligence Bureau Employees Cooperative Housing Society (Gulberg Green), Tariq Mehmood, announced the society’s continued cooperation with the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) in various areas.
The construction of the Expo Center in Islamabad, a longstanding project of the ICCI, is receiving full support from Gulberg Green.
According to sources, the two organizations are set to finalize a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the expo center construction within a week, aiming to complete this significant project as soon as possible.
President Tariq Mehmood expressed these remarks during his visit to the Islamabad Chamber at the invitation of ICCI President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari.
The discussions focused on the construction of the Expo Center in Gulberg Green and other areas of cooperation between the two organizations.
Highlighting the importance of the Expo Center for industrial and national development, President Tariq Mehmood commended the efforts of the Islamabad Chamber and its team.
Besides, he also assured full cooperation from Gulberg Green to expedite the construction of the project.
President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari emphasized that while other major cities have expo centers, Islamabad lacks such a facility as the crucial diplomatic, governmental, parliamentary, and commercial center.
He stated that the establishment of an Expo Center in Gulberg Green, located in the heart of Islamabad, is a priority.
This project will enhance society’s significance and play a vital role in the country’s business activities.
In addition, Bakhtawari expressed the desire for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to inaugurate this essential project for the country’s economy once the agreement on the Expo Center construction is finalized.
