LAHORE: Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s cabinet members have been summoned by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for their alleged involvement in the Al-Qadir Trust scam.
The investigation has been initiated after money received from the British agency NCA through a sealed envelope was given to the Supreme Court, instead of being deposited in the national treasury.
Furthermore, the money was paid as a fine to a businessman whose black money was returned to the government of Pakistan.
In addition, the Jang reporter Saleh Zafir has claimed that the owners of Bahria Town, Malik Riaz, and his son were not named in the NCA case. They were only referred to as businessmen.
As per the details, Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, and Zulfi Bukhari will be summoned during the investigation.
Besides, the details suggest that the NAB will also raise the question of under which law the money received from the NCA was kept in the Supreme Court account.
According to sources, any failure to clear the matter may lead to the National Accountability Bureau approaching the High Court to cancel Imran Khan’s bail.
