Irrigation Department Conducts Anti-Encroachment Operation Against Illegal Occupants

PESHAWAR: The Irrigation Department took legal action in three districts of the Peshawar division on the orders of Commissioner Kohat Mahmood Aslam Wazir.

According to sources, a successful anti-encroachment operation was conducted in clearing 1,935 Kanal of public land from unauthorized settlers and land grabbers within seven days.

As per the official statistics made public, the Irrigation Department was able to evict long-term occupants from 208 Kanal of property in the district Kohat, 755 Kanal in Karak, and 972 Kanal in the district Hangu.

Furthermore, the Irrigation Department and the district administrations of Kohat, Karak, and Hangu were commended for their performance by the Commissioner Kohat Division.

Besides, the commissioner also gave further instructions to each district administration to make sure that the assets of all government departments are well protected and to keep an eye out for land squatters.
