Karachi Seeks Netherlands’ Expertise for Development Projects

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab recently discussed the potential benefits of the Netherlands’ experiences and technology for development projects in Pakistan, especially in the city of Karachi.

He expressed these views during a meeting with the Netherlands Ambassador Henny Fokel de Vries at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation head office.

The meeting centered around matters of mutual interest and strengthening the relationship between the two countries.

Mayor Wahab warmly welcomed the ambassador and highlighted the longstanding ties between Pakistan and the Netherlands, which have evolved positively over the years.

During the meeting, Mayor Wahab also highlighted some of the positive changes in society, including the reservation of seats for disabled and transgender individuals in the City Council.

This move ensures adequate representation for all sections of the population in civic affairs, fostering inclusivity and diversity.

Additionally, the Mayor praised the Sindh government’s efforts in enhancing opportunities for disabled individuals, with a particular focus on improving employment prospects for them.
