KP Govt Given Possession of FATA House Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) examined the Fata House matter in Islamabad and suggested to the Interior Ministry that the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government be given possession of the property.

The committee believed that with the merger of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), the FATA House had become the property of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government.

The South Waziristan tribal district’s district education officer (DEO) was asked at the committee’s next meeting to provide an update on the non-submission of the feasibility study for the establishment of 39 boys’ and girls’ elementary schools under the Annual Development Plan (ADP).

Furthermore, the committee advised the PMC to publish a notification for doubling seats in medical and dentistry institutions by 2028 to permanently remedy the issue, and directed the provincial health secretaries in this regard.

Besides, the meeting was also made aware of the Wana, Miranshah, and Mir Ali urban master plans.

The committee also suggested Ladha as a more practical location than Spinkai Raghzi for the district headquarters of Upper Waziristan.
