Lack of Basic Amenities Plagues KDA Township

KOHAT: The residents of KDA (Kohat Development Authority) Township have voiced their grievances regarding the lack of promised facilities, including repairs of dilapidated streets, provision of water, and frequent gas and electricity outages.

The residents claim to have paid all municipal taxes regularly but are still deprived of these basic amenities.

Shahid Khan, a resident of the area, highlighted the acute water shortage, security concerns due to broken streetlights, and the presence of herds of boars attacking residents at night.

He also expressed concern over the proliferation of illegal business centers, schools, clinics, and beauty parlors in the residential area.

According to Mr. Asim, a KDA official, eviction notices were issued to commercial setups after the high court declared business operations in residential areas illegal. However, the owners are not abiding by the orders.

Islamuddin, president of the township, lamented the poor condition of the town’s streets, with many sectors remaining uncarpeted for years.

He also complained about the overloading of electricity transformers and the absence of anyone to address the residents’ complaints about overbilling.
