LAHORE: Punjab School Education Department has opened the first-ever transgender school in Lahore.
In this regard, an inaugural ceremony was attended by members of the Punjab Education Department, instructors, transgenders, and locals.
The education minister for Punjab, Murad Raas, inaugurated the school by cutting the ribbon.
It was shared that the school would have two shifts, and the students would receive instructions during the first shift and technical education during the second shift.
According to the details, more than 30 transgender students have been enrolled.
It is important to note that two transgender consultants were also engaged to understand the issues faced by the community; the teachers would also be transgenders.
Furthermore, a trans woman named Neeli Rana has praised the government for taking steps to educate the transgender community.
