LAHORE: The City Traffic Police in the provincial capital of Lahore has established temporary anti-encroachment camps at nine locations along 24 thoroughfares.
As per the details, these temporary anti-encroachment camps have been established at important locations such as Allama Iqbal Road, Shalimar Link Road, Darughawala, Main Boulevard Multan Road, and Chungi Amarsadhu.
The move is aimed at tackling the issue of encroachment, wrong parking, and other traffic rules violations which are often the root cause of traffic jams.
Mustansar Feroze, the Chief Traffic Officer of Lahore, stressed that the problem of encroachment and other traffic violations can only be resolved with the cooperation of the traders’ unions.
He directed divisional officers, circle officers, and sector in-charges to take strict action against encroachments without discrimination. He also emphasized the importance of removing encroachments in front of shops immediately.
Moreover, the authorities have deployed extra traffic personnel to prevent one-way traffic in markets. The CTO emphasized the importance of collaborating with traders to tackle traffic issues and enhance the overall situation.
It is important to note that the City Traffic Police will continue to monitor the situation closely and take appropriate measures to ensure that citizens can navigate the city with ease.
